ABOUT
Long Talk is an independent online publishing platform in the public domain founded in October 2026, whose mission is to engage with a variety of categories, such as politics, culture, philosophy, science, and technology, and to present readers with a narrative that is critical and engaging from an emancipatory perspective.
The platform’s motto is to denounce and move beyond the ‘hot takes’ culture motivated by short-form content creation and consumption on social media platforms such as Instagram, and instead nurture and promote in-depth, long-form essays such as opinion pieces, polemics, theoretical essays, and film/book/music reviews that delve deeply into the subject and analyze the contexts and subtexts from different vantage points, enriching the holistic discourse on the subject.
Long Talk, as the name suggests, encourages lengthy, deep dialogues and conversations on the subject at hand that are healthy and constructive. As any genuine polemic generates heated debate, the project of Long Talk aims to facilitate, contain, and conduct such arguments and discussions in long-form content with a particular historical, political, and cultural context in a manner that is respectful and in good taste.
Thus, Long Talk aims to present and preserve the language and vocabulary of emancipatory politics and discourse consistently throughout every discussion, including in STEM subjects and across mainstream culture, spanning books, films, and music. It is with this drive and commitment that Long Talk serves the reader with the best of its capabilities.
